Approach
Simple, honest and built
around what you need.
Every engagement is different. What stays constant is our approach; direct, experienced, practical and completely focused on what is most useful to you.
We ask the right questions and stay with you until the way forward is clear.
It’s four steps
For Individuals
Step 1 — A short introductory conversation
Thirty to forty-five minutes, no obligation. We want to understand your context, what you’re working through and what kind of support would be most useful. You will know quickly whether our style is the right fit — and so will we.
Step 2 — Agree the shape of the work
Some leaders need an ongoing thinking partner — a regular rhythm of honest, confidential conversation with someone who develops deep context about their world over time. Others need something more intensive and time-bounded: working through a specific decision, preparing for a major transition, or unpacking something that didn’t go to plan. We agree the right structure together. There is no prescribed program.
Step 3 — Work in real time
Sessions are practical and conversational. No worksheets, no frameworks, no theoretical exercises. We talk, challenge, refine and shape your thinking until the path forward is clear. You should leave every session with clarity and something you can act on — not homework.
Step 4 — Adapt as you need
Engagements flex to what’s happening in your world. Pace can increase when pressure is high, ease when things settle. We follow your rhythm, not ours.
For Organisations
Step 1 — Understand the decision
We begin by getting clear on what you are actually trying to decide, assess or resolve — and what independent perspective would be most valuable. This is often a short scoping conversation with the relevant executive sponsor.
Step 2 — Agree scope and approach
We define the questions that need answering, the stakeholders or sources we need to engage, the timeline and the output. We are direct about what we can and cannot do, and we don’t scope work we don’t believe will be genuinely useful. Organisational engagements typically run two to eight weeks depending on complexity.
Step 3 — Do the work
We conduct the analysis, interviews, research or facilitation required — drawing directly on our operational experience inside the sectors we work in. We bring the external perspective and the sector knowledge simultaneously, which is what makes the work useful rather than generic.
Step 4 — Deliver with clarity
We present findings and considerations in a format that suits your decision-making process – whether that is a board paper, an executive briefing, a working session or a structured report. We stay engaged through the conversation, not just the delivery.
